PET for Bulk Packaging Takes Off

More and more brand owners explore PET Kegs.

An online poll by Petainer reveals that 40% of brewers, wine producers and brand owners are actively exploring the business benefits that PET for bulk packaging can offer, either by already using it or by currently trialling it.*

Herman Green, Petainer’s Global Sales Director for Large Containers, will present the findings at the Canadean Beverage Packaging Congress in Brussels, and says, “We, as consumers are continuously changing our lifestyles. What we drink, where we drink and when we drink, changes continuously and rapidly around the globe. The complexity at the point of sale increases exponentially. Brand owners who can successfully harness this complexity to open new markets with either new premium products or authentic brands, can grow their top line.”

The poll found that of those businesses that were considering adding one-way PET kegs to their marketing mix, around two-thirds wanted to unlock new markets such as export, new categories or premium brands. The remaining third agreed that cost savings were the main priority for exploring one-way, PET kegs.

Herman Green concludes, “Servicing the point of sale against reasonable cost is a real challenge nowadays. It is a brand owner’s responsibility to service the point of sale in the best way possible and to provide it with new and sophisticated products every day. Timely and proactive renewal of the marketing mix and innovation is the key to success. Teaming up regularly with new and different suppliers enables knowledge-sharing and exchange of expertise, which can create and build competitive advantage. I look forward to talking about the latest developments in PET bulk packaging and explaining how Petainer can broaden the marketing mix by presenting our beer case study for one-way PET kegs at the Canadean Beverage Packaging Congress in Brussels.”
